I’m creating this blog mainly so people could track what I’m doing now that I’m at Animation Mentor. It took me a while to get to this point in my life, so I should maybe tell you about my background a little.
Back when I was 4, I was baffled at how chipmunks could talk, never the less saving people. (Chip n’ Dale Rescue Rangers) As I grew watching different cartoon shows and movies, I found out that animation was the key. Animation could unlock worlds never seen, touching your heart, putting fear into your soul, and put laughter amongst children. An art form that could move. I pushed myself to draw better and figured out that this was the only career choice for me.
So I searched for a college that was close to home that would teach me animation and found The Art Institutes International of Minnesota. I attended this school for 4 years and learned everything from modeling, texturing, lighting, animating in both 2D and 3D, compositing and more. I made a mark at the school by continuing a club called Sketch Jam and creating a new competition for the students. I made many friends that will stay with me through my life as I continue on with my life. I graduated in July 2009 with a bachelor’s degree of science majoring in Media Arts and Animation. Now that I’m at Animation Mentor I am pushing myself to further my knowledge of animation world by being with the professionals in the field.
